I spoke about one of my personal storytelling projects on "Women and Freedom" at the TEDx EMWS event in February 2019 in Mumbai, India. The theme for the event was emerge, to celebrate the unique and truly spectacular ideas within the local community that have a great impact on society: ideas that have emerged and must be reckoned with.
Freedom is the ability to do whatever you want without being questioned, right? Well, that's what most of us think. Lucy Plummer, an English traveler, and writer would beg to differ.
She looks at freedom as a subjective phenomenon rather than a one-size-fits-all. This talk is a chance to be part of her journey exploring the individual pursuit of freedom for women all around the world and to delve deeper into this concept that we thought was so objective.
Lucy Plummer has spent the last decade of her life travelling the world, a destiny she quit school at the age of 17 to pursue. In 2016, she visited India, and ever since, she’s been exploring the country and embarking on new adventures, learning about freedom and what it truly means to women around the world. This talk was given at TEDxEMWS a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
